Obituary:

Williamine Isabel (Cenfield) Woolworth, was born January 2, 1913 in Ortonville, MN a daughter of Eugene and Edna (Ransom) Cenfield and died July 21, 2010 at the Cresco Care Center in Cresco, IA after a short illness.

 

After graduation from the local schools, Williamine attended the Northwest School of Agriculture in Crookston, MN. In her late twenties, she heard the Good News of the Gospel, accepted the Lord as her personal Savior, and later graduated from Northwestern Bible/Missionary Training School in Minneapolis, MN in 1941 with Christian Education/Child Evangelism training.

 

While working at the Baptist Children's Home in Minneapolis, Williamine met Chauncey Woolworth, a widower with a 2 yr old son and and 6 yr old daughter. She became an instant Mother when she married Chauncey on September 2, 1944 then moved to Osage, IA. After Eugene was born, the family moved to Charles City , where Alice was born and later moved to Riceville, IA where Williamine worked many years (1958-1979) then retired from nurses aide work at the local hospital/nursing home. She had many entertaining stories to tell and kept us encouraged in the Lord with her words, smiles, and Godly lifestyle. She enjoyed teaching Sunday School, leading the missionary ladies group, reading, and listening to great Christian music.

 

Living family members include a daughter Alice(Dean)Abbott of Ridgeway,IA; a stepson Robert(AnnaMae) Woolworth of Charles Cily, IA; a daughter-in-law Barb Woolworth of Cresco,IA; a son-in-law Walter Fluhrer of Charles City, IA; 7 grandchildren; a brother George Cenfield of El Mirage, AZ; 2 nephews: Ray(Colleen) Cenfield of Winona,MN and Mark(Kristina) Cenfield of Antioch,TN and 6 nieces: Maxine(Randy) Chambers of Sun City,AZ: Jarilyn Cenfield of Mpls,MN: Janet Woolworth Weaverling of Osage, IA;Mary Jean(Marshall) Trout of Aurora, CO; Nancy(Robert) Boutelle of Walcott, IA and Ann (Alan) Lund of Milford, MI.

 

Williamine was preceded in death by her parents, a brother John Cenfield, a sister Eugenia Cenfield, her husband, a son Eugene, and a step-daughter Coleen(Walter)Fluhrer.

 


Visitation:

Friends my call at the Lindstrom Funeral Home in Cresco from 4 - 8 PM and one hour before services at the church.

 

 



Service:

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday July 27, 2010 at the Saratoga Presbyterian Church in Saratoga, Iowa with the Rev. Tim Sir officiating.



Cemetery:

Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery in Osage, IA.
